May 24, 2016

When Michelle Garnaut shut the doors of her popular Glamour Bar in 2014, there was a collective outpouring of sorrow from cocktail lovers across the city, with many describing the closure as the “end of an era.”However, not one to disappoint her faithful patrons, it was merely a year before Garnaut announced the opening of a chic new watering hole in the form of Glam Bar, which is conveniently situated next door to to her famous eatery M on the Bund.

Like its famous predecessor, Glam bar boasts an outstanding view, quality drinks menu and stunning interior, meaning that those left bereft by the closure of Glamour Bar could finally come out of mourning!Pulling out all the stops, Garnaut kitted the venue out with deconstructed chandeliers, banquette seating and mismatched furniture synonymous with high-octane glamour.

If you’re not too distracted by the bright lights of the Bund, delicious array of cocktails or pop-art peppered walls, then you may like to take advantage of the kissing corner that Garnaut has thoughtfully installed for her more frisky patrons!Complementing the jewelled curtains and quirky art, the floor is decked out in imondi’s machine-finished white Oak with Dover color.

Finished with a water-based lacquer, the diverse grey tones on the wood flooring offsets a peacock-feather inspired palette.

This venue is undoubtedly a must-see for anyone passing through the city, as there is no better ambience in which to admire Shanghai’s iconic cityscape.
